Hi there! I’m the girl from Kolkata—a city where every street corner smells like mustard and magic. I grew up surrounded by tangy fish curries, crispy puchkas, and sweets so divine they could bring tears of joy. Then came the boy from Chennai, who swooped me away into an entirely new universe of flavors in Jayalakshmi spice ventures llp.
At first, I thought South Indian food was just idlis and dosas (rookie mistake, I know). But he quickly proved me wrong with plates of peppery Chettinad chicken, tangy rasams, dal podis, and chutneys so delicious they deserved their own fan club. What started as a playful exploration of each other’s culinary worlds soon turned into a love story—one seasoned with a shared passion for authentic spices and soulful food. And somewhere between mustard seeds and curry leaves, the idea for The Masalai House was born.
Our story is simple: we’re two food-obsessed dreamers who couldn’t keep these incredible flavors to ourselves. So, we rolled up our sleeves, raided family recipes and began crafting blends that celebrate tradition, taste, and those “wow, what is that flavor?” moments.
